American Meat Inc. ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

When you place an order, we collect:

• Email address — to send you order confirmations and updates
• Shipping name — used for delivery purposes; this does not need to be your legal name
• Shipping address — to fulfill and ship your order
• Order history — records of your orders and any changes made to them

We do not collect payment information. Online payments are processed securely by PayPal — we never receive or store your credit card or banking details. If you pay by money order through the mail, no financial account information is transmitted to or stored by us.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

• Process and fulfill your orders
• Send you order confirmations, shipping updates, and order-related notifications
• Respond to inquiries you send us

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate our website. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data:

• PayPal — payment processing for online orders. PayPal's privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled. Money order payments are not processed through PayPal.
• Netlify — website hosting. Netlify collects standard web server logs including IP addresses and browser information.
• Firebase / Google Cloud — database and server-side processing. Your order data is stored in Firebase Firestore.
• Brevo — transactional email delivery for order confirmations and updates.
• ShipStation — shipping rates and label generation. Your shipping address is sent to ShipStation to calculate shipping rates at checkout, and your name, shipping address, email address, and a description of the items in your package are sent to produce shipping labels (and, for international orders, customs forms). ShipStation shares this information with the shipping carrier delivering your order.
• EasyShip — shipping rates and label generation for some orders, including orders placed before we moved to ShipStation. Your name and shipping address may be transmitted to EasyShip solely to calculate shipping rates and produce shipping labels for your orders.
• Google reCAPTCHA — protects our website and checkout from automated abuse (bots). reCAPTCHA runs on every page and collects hardware and software information, such as device and browser data, which is sent to Google for analysis. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Google Fonts and cdnjs (Cloudflare) — deliver the fonts and icons used on our pages. These services receive your IP address when your browser downloads those files.

Cookies and Local Storage

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics. To make the site work, we store a small amount of information in your browser. It stays on your device and is not used to track you.

• For your current visit (session storage, cleared when you close the browser tab): your age verification; product customizations and gallery filters you're working on; discount codes you've applied; checkout details carried between pages, such as your email and shipping address when you reorder; a waitlist invitation and email address, if you arrived from a waitlist email; and a copy of our product catalog so pages load faster.
• Until you clear it (local storage): your shopping cart; a private access key for each order you place, so you can reopen it in the order tracker without verifying again; and changes you've started making to an existing order but haven't submitted yet.

Some third-party services also set their own cookies or store data in your browser: Google reCAPTCHA on every page, and PayPal when you open the payment window. See Third-Party Services above.

You can clear this information at any time in your browser's settings. Doing so empties your cart, and you'll need the link in your order email or an emailed access code to reopen an order in the order tracker.

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. Your order data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, and all data transmission between your browser and our servers occurs over encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your order information for as long as necessary to fulfill orders, handle potential returns, and comply with our legal obligations. If you request deletion of your information, we will honor that request to the extent we are not required to retain it by law.

Children's Privacy

This website is intended for adults 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Withdraw consent to our use of your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to Know — You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to Delete — You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
